Full time courses are up to 18 hours per week and are intended for overseas students whose main reason for coming
to the UK is to study English. Classes are in the morning, afternoon or evening to suit individual needs.
Part time classes are available throughout the week. These classes may suit students with limited free time or those
who are working. Weekend classes are also available.
Intensive courses of over 15 hours per week are for those who wish to improve their English in a short period of
time. It is not recommended for beginners to undertake an intensive course.
Individual/group tailored courses are available on request. Please talk to our management and administration
staff to discuss specific requirements.
Students enrolling with the college are assessed according to a Needs Analysis and Placement Test. These help us to
place students at the correct level.
This is important to ensure all students get the most out of their learning experience here at 2nd City Academy.
All levels are catered for, from beginner to advanced.
The four key skills, speaking, listening, reading, writing, are all covered in the courses provided. There is a
strong emphasis on communicative English, especially in the lower levels. However, vocabulary, pronunciation and
grammar are all covered and individual needs and requirements are taken into account.
Our qualified, experienced staff are always willing to help students in any way they can. We pride ourselves on the
open and friendly attitude that has made this college such a success and has helped to bring out the best in our
students.
