Gap Year Projects
As the number of people taking a gap year grows, so too does the number of people wanting more than time spent just drifting around the world.
More and more gapers are looking for opportunities to deepen their awareness of other cultures and contribute to the quality of life in the
communities they visit, rather than just pass by without any meaningful experience.
TEFL International partners with Cultural Extremes to combine training as Teacher
of English to Speakers of Other Languages and the opportunity to put your newly acquired skills to work helping others gain essential skills
to improve the quality of their life.
Rural Thailand Projects
The Rural Thailand Project is sponsored by the Thai Ministry of Education in Rayong. Working with TEFL International
and Cultural Extremes, this venture provides native-speakers of English with training for a recognised TESOL
Certificate and then places them in small town schools in South Eastern Thailand.
This project provides you with a qualification that will enable you to teach worldwide and allows you to put newly
acquired teaching skills immediately to work in small Thai communities where native English-speaking teachers could
normally not be afforded.
The 21 week program includes:
- 4 week TEFL International TESOL course in Ban Phe, Thailand
- Thai language lessons
- 4 month teaching placement
- Placement salary of 15,000 baht per month
- Airport pick-up
- Accommodation
- Internationally-recognized TEFL certificate
The 6 week program includes:
- 1 week TEFL International PELT course in Pattaya, Thailand
- Thai language lessons
- Weekend excursion
